Reviews by other travellers

I have a website (www.connect2cuba.com) that has been helping people to go to Cuba for some 8 years now.

Today I want to start writing in this blog some of the impressions, tips and opinions of customers, or better, friends that used our site. I hope they will help people who are planning a trip to Cuba.

Angela:

"The trip to Cuba was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. I will be forever grateful for that experience. I'm so glad my friend talked me into going before it becomes Americanized. The people are so humble and so kind. They are so appreciative of the things that we Americans take for granted. We stayed in a very nice casa in Playa de Guanabo. I would stay there again. Our host family was very nice and very accommodating. The lady next door even speaks English.

We crunched A LOT into our short 7 day trip. We were able to spend a day or two in Havana Vieja, watch the Cabaret at the Tropicana. We also took 2 days and drove to Santa Clara to see the Che Guevara Memorial museum and then drove on to Trinidad where we stayed one night in another casa particular. I'd stay there again as well. Such awesome people.

In traveling there, I would tell people to bring things for the Cubans such as razors, toothpaste, bars of soap, and toilet paper, etc. It's hard for them to get their hands on some times. I also would bring immodium and tums. Our stomachs weren't used to the different food they have there. And definitely do not forget your camera and a journal to write about your experiences."

Varadero

Definetely the best beach in Cuba, even versus rivals such as Cayo Coco and recently Holguin.

I just came back from Varadero and it is really a dream to be there. I had relatives staying at the Arenas Doradas hotel, but they didnt like it that much, so they moved to the Riu Turquesa, and they really had fun over there. Very pretty, good people, and very close to the beach.

Of course there are heavyweights such as the Barcelo solimar, the international, Punta Arenas, it all depends on what you want.
